Robin was born and raised in Boston, where she quickly developed a love for Boston accents, the Red Sox and clam chowdah. From age 3 to 18, Robin studied dance, piano, voice, and acting, and performed in numerous concerts and shows all over the Boston area, and in Greece, Italy, Germany, and Prague.
Robin moved to New York at age 18 to attend Barnard College at Columbia University, where she received a B.A. in Music and Dance (magna cum laude) and was elected to the honors society Phi Beta Kappa. Robin spent her junior year studying abroad in Italy, where she earned a dance scholarship at a performing arts school in Rome, and perfected her increasingly fluent and wicked awesome Italian language skills.
Robin has performed in the original companies of many exciting premieres and productions both in NYC and throughout the U.S. She sang in the American premiere of Sir Paul McCartney’s "Ecce Cor Meum", a tribute to his late wife, at Carnegie Hall. She also sang in the NY premiere of the opera "Grendel" at Lincoln Center, directed by Tony Award winner Julie Taymor and composed by Academy Award winner Elliot Goldenthal. Robin also performed in "My Fair Lady" with the NY Philharmonic, starring Kelsey Grammer and Kelli O'Hara at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. She was a member of the original company of “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas”, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, and was also in the company of the world premiere of “Dancing in the Dark”, at the Old Globe

Theatre in San Diego. Robin also performed in "Stairway to Paradise"' as a part of the acclaimed City Center Encores! series, starring Kristin Chenoweth and directed by Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks.
In the classical world, Robin has sang extensively with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center, working with world-renowned conductors including Riccardo Muti and Lorin Maazel. Among her most memorable experiences was singing in the world premiere of John Adam's "On the Transmigration of Souls", a piece commissioned by the Philharmonic to honor the victims of 9/11. The piece won the Pulitzer Prize and the recording garnered 3 Grammy Awards.
Recently, Robin was one of 13 actors (including Chita Rivera and David Hyde Pierce) asked to perform in the Kander and Ebb benefit "Come to the Cabaret", directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle at Broadway's Schoenfeld Theatre. She has also emerged as a presence on the film and comedy scene. She starred in the independent comedy feature “The Consultants”, currently in post-production with an expected release date of summer 2009, and just finished shooting the political comedy feature "Below the Beltway" in DC, starring Tate Donovan, Kip Pardue and Noah Wyle. Robin continues to hone her comedic skills at Upright Citizens Brigade and The P.I.T. (People’ Improv Theatre) in NYC, and is currently in pre-production for a new web series she is writing and directing about the trials and tribulations of online dating in Manhattan.
