Bio
Robin was born and raised in Boston, where she quickly developed a love for Boston accents, the Red Sox and clam chowdah. From age 3 to 18, Robin studied dance, piano, voice, and acting, and performed in numerous concerts and shows all over the Boston area, and in Greece, Italy, Germany, and Prague.
Robin moved to New York at age 18 to attend Barnard College at Columbia University, where she majored in Music and Dance (BA, magna cum laude) and was elected to the honors society Phi Beta Kappa.
Robin has since performed throughout the country in regional theatres, in national tours, and continues to work in New York. Between theatre gigs, Robin sings with the New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. Among her most memorable experiences there was singing in the world premiere of John Adam’s “On the Transmigration of Souls”, a piece commissioned by the New York Philharmonic to honor the victims of the 9/11 tragedy. The piece was broadcast live on NPR, and won the Pulitzer Prize and 3 Grammy Awards. Most recently Robin sang in the NY premiere of the opera "Grendel", directed by the Tony-Award winning Julie Taymor and composed by the Academy-Award winning Elliot Goldenthal. “Grendel” was performed at the NY State Theater and was billed as the centerpiece of the Lincoln Center Festival 2006.
Robin is also a certified yoga and Pilates teacher and has taught classes and workshops in New York and New England. She speaks fluent Italian, some French, and wicked good English. Robin is currently honing her comedic skills at the Upright Citizens Brigade, where she takes sketch comedy improv classes.
